Carolyn Stallwitz
Carolyn
Stallwitz is an artist whos love of wildlife and nature has taken her across the
Southwest and as far away as Costa Rica and Africa in search of subject matter
for her paintings. As an artist-amateur naturalist, she has built a
reputation from the Rocky Mountains to the Gulf Coast predicated on her skillful
pencil drawings, fine watercolors, and detailed gouache paintings of wildlife
and nature.
Carolyn has lived in the Panhandle of Texas all of her life and on a farm southwest of Dumas, Texas since 1959, when she married a farmer, Eddie Stallwitz, and they raised two sons. She has been a member of the Moore County Art Association since 1957 and presently serves as Director of The Art Center owned by the Association.
Armed with her camera, Carolyn photographs the living things she sees in the world around the farm and the birds and wildlife she travels so far to see. She continues to paint anything and everything that catches her eye.
