Joy Wingo
A recent addition to The Art Center from the West Coast and Hawaii, Joy Wingo finds herself "beached" from water, so her work reflects her past environment.
Joy was raised in San Diego, near water. Marriage to James Wingo, a career Navy man, took them many places over the world, always near or on the water. Their last home base was in Hawaii...surrounded by water.
When James retired, they moved to Dumas to be near James' family...and now Joy finds herself almost as far from water as it is possible to be. She enjoys working in watercolor and acrylic.
